Dear Editor,
It is truly amazing that one who lived and worked in Jamaica for 13 years has left such an indelible impression on our national landscape. Since the arrival of Brian George here as president and CEO of Supreme Ventures Limited, his energy and superb managerial talents extended well beyond the building of a corporate enterprise to embrace dedicated service to all members of our sporting organisations and several of our country’s institutions.
His success in so short a time was due largely to his training and discipline, his mastery of technology, and astute skills as a negotiator. He had that special gift of securing his goals and targets by a course of gentle persuasion that sought not only to extract what he wanted, but also to give back something in return. He was blessed with a visionary focus and an abundant generosity of spirit.
Brian George, Trini to the bone — his epitaph, carved in Jamaican stone.
His sudden departure has created a void in the gaming and entertainment industry. It is a loss which deprives us of the entrepreneurial dedication and sheer delight that he provided during the sojourn in what was to become his homeland of choice.
Gone too soon. May he enjoy perpetual peace.
P J Patterson
Former Prime Minister of Jamaica
