Heat on justice

Dear Editor,

“This is unbearable,” said Justice Lloyd Hibbert, who was in a sitting at the Supreme Court. He revealed that the air conditioning has been down for a week.

Under the circumstances, with the A/C not working, they may consider removing all these heavy jackets, ties, and robes that contribute to the unbearable temperatures, even sometimes with the A/C working.

This is a tropical country, why bother with so many bundles of uncomfortable clothing, including shirts, undershirts, jackets, ties, gowns, and headgear on top of that?

The courtrooms in downtown Kingston could be redesigned with a little architectural common sense to make use of the constant sea breeze to assist fans and filters.

Anyway we look at it, we must conclude that the administration of justice in Jamaica needs an urgent administrative and physical fix-up.
