Dear Editor,
I had to reconsider my opinion about Donald T Trump after thinking that he is more Christian than Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
As I recalled, it was the Obama Administration that legalised same-sex marriage in America. The Obama Administration believed in abortion. Hillary and Barack believe that man is responsible for his own behaviour in this life and is not subjected to a higher moral authority as portrayed by the
Bible. Thus, they have taken the Bible out of the schools. The children of America have no moral compass to live by. This leads the nation to moral decay.
Donald Trump, on the other hand, does not believe in these un-Christian principles. He and his surrogates, including his vice-president, believe that marriage should be one man to one woman; they believe that abortion should not be by choice, but by necessity. They believe in family values and unity and hence, bringing the family together would “make America great again”. Donald Trump has also been setting good examples in his own family life.
I have heard from reliable sources that, up there in America, a number of churches prayed out the Democrats and prayed in the Republicans. History is replete with evidence of countries that failed because they walked away from God. The Roman Empire failed because of immorality, and France disintegrated when they rejected the teachings of the Bible and worked to the Age of Reasoning. Port Royal in Jamaica sank because, at that time, it was the most wicked spot on planet Earth.
This is why I changed my mind from supporting Hillary and Obama. America was founded on Christian principles and let it remain that way. We must always remember that God is in control of His world. What might seem a miracle in Trump’s victory is just one the ways God shows up and confounds us, we little humans. He runs this world, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
