Dear Editor,
I recently read about J Wray and Nephew Prime Ministers' Reserve for Jamaica 100. It was very heart- warming to see, in one place, all living prime ministers and representatives of those gone ahead.
This historic occasion reminds us of where we are coming from and where we are going. In spite of all the problems Jamaica has, this event gives Jamaica hope for the future. We can proudly believe that we will continue to be on the world stage as producers of the world's best rum. This is quite an achievement.
We recently celebrated Jamaica's 50th Anniversary of Independence and we stand at a turning point in our nation's history. Now is the time to examine both past and present as we look towards Jamaica 100. There is hope and the Prime Ministers' Reserve was evidence of that. We will still be alive and kicking in 2062 celebrating with a product that is uniquely Jamaican.
I would like to salute J Wray and Nephew for staying positive and for raising Jamaica's spirits.
