Dear Editor,
It is often said that our leaders have failed us because they have allowed corruption to take over this country.
But let us not blame our leaders entirely as we too have contributed significantly to the deterioration of our society. The generation before us has left an indelible mark on how to get ahead in this country without playing fair.
For example, in today's society taking a driving examination is not an option because you can acquire your licence for the right price. Who can forget some people selling fake Caribbean Secondary Education Council (CSEC) certificates and university degrees? I don't recall any politician being involved in that thriving illegal operation.
Jamaicans need to understand that we are not all innocent as it relates to corruption. So before we crucify our politcal leaders, let us examine ourselves and the choices we make.
