Tired of both of them!

Dear Editor,

I wish for the day when Jamaicans get completely tired of the Jamaica Labour Party and the People's National Party and they will cease to exist in Jamaicans' minds and hearts as they do.

One should be careful what one wishes for, but I see no other way. All the politicking, poking holes, and laying blame has done nothing to boost my confidence in the twin stalwarts of Jamaican politics. I'm already tired of them.

The Jamaica Labour Party may have potential, but all they do as the Opposition is find fault without producing a viable solution. Not to mention some of the senior members of the party who continuously show that they do not have faith or trust in the youth as they repeatedly question Andrew Holness and his leadership. The dinosaurs need to become extinct or find something useful to do. And, the ol' tyaad basket comparison needs to go too, as we just want to survive without a reminder of how our bad choices in governance have brought us down.

As at Monday, November 16, 2015, it is $119.82 to US$1. The only thing "on fleek" is the supporters heading to supercharged rallies.

Added to this, "Mama P" has said, in Portmore, she is waiting on her Master to touch her about when to call the election. And we, the idiots, sit idly by and watch her playing political football with our constitutional rights.

Why keep Jamaicans in suspenseful anticipation for so long? What game is the prime minister playing at? While she shores up votes, she opens the doors to unrestrained chaos, and the poor can't protect themselves and properties from excited opportunists who usually emerge with the politicking.

I wonder about the IMF relaxed primary surplus of $4 billion, so conveniently dropped in the middle of the political season. What will it be used for, if not elections? Maybe it will restart the pop down JEEP.

The sad thing about this tiredness is that both parties speak of themselves as the best for Jamaica, but from their combined political experience, why hasn't Jamaica improved, like Singapore, in its 53 years under their leadership? The country is always tackling the same issues with no improvement; then the finger-pointing starts. Everything is still disconnected, archaic, and lacking in foresight.

The blinding 'diehardness' is so bad, I propose that a change to the Jamaican flag is necessary. Divide the flag diagonally, colour each triangle green and orange, so when one party wins its colour goes on top and when other reversed.

It's not too early for wishing, seeing that Christmas and the election are right around the corner. Hopefully, it won't be too late before Jamaica wakes up.
